After suffering through the Super Bowl, I was glad to get back to a show I enjoy. I wasn’t disappointed in the game, I just really don’t care for football. Why watch, then? A fair question. Seven layer dip. That’s why. Now on to the high and lowlights of this week’s The Fosters episode:
Leave It:
- Stef and Lena getting their heart broken by Callie: Oh, it was hard to watch when they asked Callie about her plans to enter the independent living program.
- Car commercial: I’m torn about the heavy-handed product placements. Mostly it irks me, but on the other hand, I do like to know when brands are standing behind the LGBT community. I’ll still roll my eyes at the clumsy advertising worked into the script, but will also seriously consider supporting brands that support us.
Brandon: Brandon may be a permanent fixture on this list if he doesn’t gain some perspective quickly. I remember how impressed I was with his character in the beginning of the season. I thought he was so bright and mature for his age… and now I just… I don’t know.
Love It:
- Correctly spelled texts: A picture of herself scarfing french fries and using “you’re” correctly – Jesus, I can’t blame you for wanting to spend some #JesusTime with this girl.
- Baby Fever: I’m not gonna lie, I can relate to having baby fever – even when it’s the “bad kind of insane.” I wonder how this storyline will pan out? Because a baby would really change the vibe of the show.
- Cole opens up: I was glad to get a little more insight into Cole’s character because frankly I was finding him difficult to like.
- Jude’s decision: I was so glad to see Jude make the decision to get adopted with or without Callie.
- Stef and Lena exploding with joy over Jude: This was the best moment of the episode – and possibly my favorite moment of the show to date. They were so adorable giggling and hugging – and right after the stern scolding they gave Jude. Sigh. <3
And now, like Callie turning in her cell phone, I’m going to shut my computer. But not before I ask: what did you love and hate about this week’s episode?
How sad is it that I missed that that was a car commercial???
