TGIF Video: Listen to This Mother!

Schneverdingen Closing out a week of Mothers’ Day-related posts (can we help it? lesbian family = a surfeit of mamas!), we highlight a mother reading an essay about (among other things) her daughter’s “obvious surplus of grandmothers.” This is one of my favorite readings from last year’s San Francisco Listen to Your Mother show: Margaret Elysia Garcia, reading “Questions and Answers.”  If you listen carefully, you may even hear me guffawing from the back of the house. Which I did, a lot.

She’s directing the upcoming May 15th LTYM in Plumas County (that would be northeastern California, where the Sierra Nevada mountains meet the Cascade Range). She can be found online at Tales of a Sierra Madre.

Her reading below is just a little under nine minutes, and worth every one of them.

If you live in any of the following cities, tickets may still be available for the upcoming shows. Highly recommended.
