Teddy Grahams and the homosexual agenda

Puan Last week, Nabisco aired a commercial for Honey Maid Graham Crackers and Teddy Grahams that included an adorable gay couple giving their baby a bottle, going for a walk and then posing with their son in front of a nice suburban home. The commercial also includes a happy interracial family and a white heterosexual family with parents who – gasp – have a lot of tattoos!

The tagline is “This is wholesome.”

Not surprising, One Million Moms is offended by this commercial because it promotes homosexuality. However, as far as I can tell, it mostly promotes consumption of carbohydrates, kissing babies, playing the drums, buttoning shirts and looking beautiful while walking in the sun. All of these things may, in fact, be part of the Homosexual Agenda but I’m not sure since I haven’t been given a recent copy.

I love happy, smiling families but what I love more is seeing an ad that expands our vision of the archetypal American family. I don’t need families like mine to be seen as wholesome but I do need them to be seen.

So, who’s making s’mores this weekend?

  1. I saw this on youtube last night and I actually rewatched the video just so I could see the commercial again because I wanted to make sure I saw what I thought I did. There are very few advertising campaigns that I recognize as truly convincing me to buy their product/service/etc just because of the commercial but I suddenly have an urge to give up the generic grahams and go for Honeymaid =).

  2. Saw the commercial but couldn’t remember what it was for. Will be getting some Teddy Grahams this week. (I’m white, hetrosexual and tatoo-less FWIW.

  3. I have always been a huge fan of this particular brand of graham crackers. When I was pregnant and hungry in the middle of the night, I would get up and eat two of them and go back to bed. I’m very happy to see that the thousands of dollars I have spent on crackers has not been wasted on haters. Yeah lovers! And it’s very fun to see advertisers “talk back.”
